Social Security
The most successful program in American history has been the Social Security System. Most Americans have to depend on the retirement benefits, and expect to receive such as a matter of right. While I believe that the government should encourage, through incentives and tax breaks, Americans to invest in the private sector for retirement benefits, I do not believe this should be part of or in replacement of the present Social Security System. I would like to see legislation that guarantees protection for the viability of Social Security for future generations. To further Medicare, which is essential to many of Americans, we must streamline management, reduce cost, and pressure insurance companies to allocate risk to reduce cost. We must advance the technology and communication systems to expedite matters, and reduce cost. We need to develop a system that gets “generic medicines” into the system quicker which would keep costs to a minimum.
