Born in Chicago in 1963, John grew up wrestling and playing baseball. He attended Holy Cross High School in River Grove, IL. John began his collegiate career at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, before transferring to the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he majored in criminal justice. He then went on to study law at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI, where he was elected to the student senate in 1987 and was admitted to the bar in 1992.
Together with his wife Rose, John is a proud parent of four children: Angelina, Emily, John and Alyssa. The family resides in the northwest side of Chicago.

The issues John
believes will be critical in the coming election include the war; illegal immigration; the securing of retirement benefits and social security; the rising cost of energy; the housing market; and the current administration's
inablity to pass legislation in regard to making education affordable to families.
